Poppies only grow in disturbed soil. Man can provide the best growing area's for these flowers. With their shells, bombs, guns, barbed wire, trenches and bodies. From noise comes silence, From silence comes pain, From pain comes hatred From hatred comes war, From war comes death, From death comes life.

I wasn't sure how to categorise this. I found this patch of poppies growing next to a roundabout which had newly been built. I stopped and took a series of photos. The photograph of the sky is also mine. Poppies grew all over the battle fields of WWI. )=
Great atmosphere. The dark sky, the little mistiness in the grass and the highlighting of the poppies gels together perfectly. It's really a great composition of elements that has a nicely sinister edge to it... kind of a Wuthering Heights feel. Very beautiful.
